Love is the Movement Plates

So I posted one of these earlier but this is the whole project imperfections and all.

This was the first project I worked on in Ceramics 1 the project I have spent the most hours on, and one of the few projects I have cried over (when I saw that the blue plate had cracked in the kiln.) Then another pot exploded in the kiln with the yellow plate and it had bits of clay stuck in it forever now. Despite what got messed up with those two plates, I couldn't bring myself to throw them out.

It took me a year to see how beautiful the imperfections make it especially with the message I was trying to send. Love is the Movement, no matter how broken or dirty we or others are.

This is a slogan from the non-profit organization To Write Love on Her Arms, which helps raise awareness for those struggling with depression and self-abuse. It's really something I have a passion for. You can find the story here: [link]
